Retired U.S. Forest Service District Ranger Joe Dabney has been selected as the Mountain View Area Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Citizen for 2015, the Chamber’s highest honor.
He will receive the award at the Chamber’s annual meeting and banquet this Thursday at the Ozark Folk Center’s Skillet Restaurant. The event begins at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 and are available at the Chamber office on the east side of the courtsquare.
Joe came to Stone County from Atlanta in 1994 as district ranger, and served in that capacity until his retirement in 2004. During his tenure, he supervised several major projects which have proved to be of great benefit to Stone County.
