The public got an update on the local pellet factory operated by Fiber Energy Products during a public hearing last week regarding a grant for the facility.
The company now has 16 employees, 65 percent of whom met the low to moderate income guidelines. The company expects to hire five or six more people and expand to a third shift with the addition of a second mill and pelleting line.
