Election: Early voting will begin next week for the upcoming school election. Two positions are open this year, with races in both. Only voters in the zones with positions on the ballot will vote.

Lawsuit: Court documents filed by the Mixon Law Firm, which is representing Mountain View School District in the lawsuit involving teacher Troyce Barnett, indicate negotiations are still being made regarding wording of the final order and judgment in the case.

Taylor Denied Parole: Danny N. Taylor, 53, who was convicted of the 1999 murder of Sandy Whetnall of Mountain View was denied parole last month in a unanimous vote of the board, according to Rhonda Sharp, information officer.
