Trail Cleaning Effort set Feb. 1

Representatives from the International Mountain Bike Association (IMBA) were in town last weekend making preparations for a planned mountain bike trail cleanup. The project is set for Saturday, Feb. 1.

Steve Schneider, IMBA South Central Regional Director, said he plans to bring as many as 50 volunteers to Mountain View to work on the trail, many of whom are participating in the Subaru/IMBA Trail Building School that morning. The Trail Building School teaches IMBA’s philosophies and trains local volunteers and land managers how to build and maintain sustainable, fun single track for mountain bikes. The school involves three hours in the classroom followed by about four hours in the field doing hands on trail work and field instruction.

Local volunteers wishing to participate in the Feb. 1 event should contact Steve Schneider at steve.schneider@imba.com or 479-466-0988.
