Posted

The Stone County Community Center board of directors held a pancake breakfast fundraiser Oct. 12 (shown above) and plans to sponsor a Fall Fest Nov. 2 in downtown Mountain View around the Stone County Courthouse.

During Fall Fest, there will be a chili cook-off, 3-legged races, sack races, cornhole tournament, pie auction, silent auction, entertainment and other activities during the day. Games begin at 11 a.m., as will the silent auction and chili judging. Chili and baked potatoes, along with snack items will be offered for sale. The pie auction will be held at 1 p.m.

The silent auction of various merchandise will close at 2 p.m.

The cornhole tournament begins at 12:30 on the north side of the courtsquare. Registration is $20 per team if pre-registered, or $25 on the day of the event.

Fall Fest t-shirts are on sale for $15. Contact the group at stonecountycommunitycenter@gmail.com or through Facebook: Stone County Community Center. Representatives will be outside Wallace Woodworks during Bean Fest to sign teams up for cornhole, and to sell shirts and raffle tickets. The group is raffling a donated 8x12 storage shed. A maximum 500 tickets will be offered for $10 each.

On Nov. 2, Mountain View EAST Lab students will have a box set up at the registration table to collect empty printer cartridges as a fundraiser for their projects.

Rosco P. Coal Train’s Community Outreach will host Pups on Parade for dogs in costume at 3 p.m. (Arrive no earlier than 2:30 p.m., please). There will be something special for every entrant. Dogs may be on leashes, in strollers or carried. Costumes will be judged. For more information call 870-269-7308 or 870-214-2963.
