Mountain View City Council took some steps at its regular meeting Jan. 23 to prevent future loss of water production , and reviewed the recent water supply problems.
The council agreed to purchase two 8” electric pumps as backup pumps for the water intake structure in case there was a similar situation in the future.
Mayor Roger Gardner also explained that a new upgraded valve system was underway to better flush out the gravity-fed pipes coming from the river. This new electric system can isolate and flush out individual pipes with more force and concentration.
New pumps should be here within nine weeks at a cost of $21,956 each.
