EAST Students Plan Projects

Posted

Students in Mountain View’s EAST Initiative have adopted several projects that fit this year’s National Service Project theme of “Strengthening Foundations of Learning” and they welcome the public’s participation.

Environmental and Spatial Technology, Inc. is a project-based, service-learning oriented program. It is a coordinated effort to provide students with an educational atmosphere that allows them to gain insight into their own abilities to acquire and use information, solve problems and develop valuable experience. Carole Smith is facilitator of the program at Mountain View High School.

This year’s projects involve teaching sign language, observing nature, enhancing digital literacy, financial literacy for young adults, career orientation, and assisting elementary and middle school students with software.
