Fatal Accident

One person died as the result of this two-vehicle accident on Highway 14 near Melrose June 7 around 9:00 a.m. All four people involved were transported to medical facilities. George Bryan, 82, of Marcella died later in the week at Little Rock. His 79-year-old wife, Helen, was driving a 2013 Hyundai (above, in road) and pulled from a driveway going east into the path of a westbound 2000 Nissan driven by 18-year-old Colton Vickers, who had his sister, Bobbie Ann, 20, as a passenger. The Vickers vehicle came to rest in the field and is barely visible in the photo. Bobbie Vickers and George Bryan were medflighted to Little Rock, while Colton Vickers and Helen Bryan were taken to Batesville by ambulance, officers said. - Photo by Rusty Fraser
