A standard procedure to put private club permit applicants on a “level playing field” is still under development, and could be formalized when the Stone County Quorum Court meets this Thursday (Feb. 11).
The quorum court’s law enforcement committee met Feb. 2 and discussed a process for business owners seeking a private club application to serve alcoholic drinks, and are now modifying an application used by the Arkansas Beverage Commission. The proposed ordinance, if approved, will require private club applicants outside city limits to complete an application identical to one ABC requires, with some additional questions and requirements.
County Judge Stacey Avey said the proposed ordinance essentially “moves that step forward in the overall process.”
