Review of Jail Plans Continue

Posted

Stone County officials reviewed plans for the new jail last week and were scheduled to meet again this week to discuss the budget and details of the proposed tax increase.

Shawn Harding from HMN Architects presented sketches of the revised plans for members of the jail steering and advisory committees.

Harding made note of a few issues that were considered in designing the layout, including creating distinct traffic patterns for inmates, staff, and the public.

He has also considered balancing the sheriff’s need for bed numbers with the public perceptions about the size of the jail. The size being considered is 60-70 beds.
