Two men are seeking the Republican nomination for Stone County Judge, with the race to be decided during the primary election next month.
Jim Nesbitt and Robert Huckleberry both have Stone County roots and have been active in community service locally, including serving as justices of the peace.
When asked about the biggest challenges facing the county government, both candidates mentioned fuel prices and their effect on the local economy.
Nesbitt is focused on improving roads, including access roads into the county, to help stimulate the economy, while Huckleberry advocates a cooperative community alliance
