Mountain View’s Lady Yellowjackets won the district tournament Saturday night with a 63-53 victory over Bergman in the finals at Melbourne. As the conference winner and #1 seed, they had received a bye to the semi-finals, where they defeated Salem 57-37.
Mountain View senior boys started the tournament with a win over Salem, then the Yellowjackets defeated Cave City 62-57. The team fell to top-seeded Bergman 68-41 in the semifinals.
Both teams advance to this week’s regional tournament, which is also hosted by Melbourne. The senior girls play Wednesday at 4 p.m. vs. Walnut Ridge. The senior boys play Wednesday at 8:30 vs. Osceola.

Both senior teams at Rural Special are advancing to regional level, with seeding and opponents to be determined by the finals of district, which were to be played Monday night after being postponed because of road conditions last week.
The Lady Rebels were to play top-seeded West Side in the finals, while Concord and Calico Rock were set for the boys district title.
UPDATE Monday 10:00 PM - West Side won the girls championship 75-55, and Calico Rock defeated Concord 55-47 for the boys championship.
The Rebels, who had received the top seed after conference play, fell to fourth-seeded Concord 60-41 in Saturday’s semifinal game.
As #2 seed, the Lady Rebels also received a bye to the semifinals, where they defeated Viola 61-30. Rieley Sutterfield scored 18 points (including four three-pointers), while Emma Goins added 13, Rayleigh Turner 10, Aubrey Linville 8 and Bellah Kirby 6 for the Lady Rebels.
Against Concord, Elisha Rushing went 8-for-8 from the freethrow line and led the team with 16 points. Kasen Stevens added 11.

Timbo’s senior boys were #3 seed for the district tournament and had a bye to the second-round, where they recorded a 59-27 win over Norfork. The Tigers fell to #2 seeded Calico Rock in the semifinals, 60-52.
In the Calico Rock game, Jaxon Wilkins led scoring with 18 points, while Braden Avey scored 13 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, and Grady Pitcock hit for 14 points and stole the ball five times.
Against Norfork, Avey scored 17, Wilkins added 16 and Pitcock had 12.
They advance to regional play this week.
The Lady Tigers ended their season with a 50-45 loss to Concord in the first round of play.
