Mountain View School Board passed a resolution officially recognizing the detachment of Rural Special and Timbo School Districts and declared two at-large vacancies on the school board during a special meeting July 9.
Interested candidates must notify the district and submit a petition with 20 signatures of registered voters within 30 days. Required documents are available at the district office and on its website: mountainviewschooldistrict.k12.ar.us.
The board also handled several personnel matters, following an executive session.
They hired Brent Howard as athletic director (in addition to current duties), Amber McDaniel as 4th grade teacher, Tonya Howard as paraprofessional, Valerie Steele as elementary secretary, Danny Daniels for 6th grade math, Delaney Worsham for 6th grade reading, Kelli Reynolds for 6th grade literacy, and Leisha McCoy for 7th-8th grade special ed, and transferred Johnathon Johnson from 6th to 8th grade literacy.
They accepted resignations from Tim Howard as athletic director, Nathan Wilson as 4th grade teacher, Melissa Bonds from 6th grade math, Christina Gerbine as secretary, and Ayla Smith as middle school paraprofessional.
The board’s regular meeting has been set for July 28.
