Rural Special basketball teams hosted Timbo on Jan. 28 for three games that had been postponed earlier in the week. The home squads were able to win two of the games, with the senior boys reversing results of the closely contested matchup at Timbo back in December. Rural Special won the senior boy game 55-52, and the senior girl game 75-46. The Tigers won the junior boy game 50-25.
The senior boys, again, battled throughout, with Timbo leading 13-7 after the first quarter, and holding a three-point edge at haltime (26-23). The score was tied at 33 all going into the final period and the Rebels were able to grit out a three-point victory.
The Rebels had four players in double figures, with Kasen Stevens scoring 14, Jacob Morris 13, and Cole Linville and Elisha Rushing with 10 each.
Gage Massey led Timbo with 17 points, while Braden Avey added 14 and Jeremiah Holley tossed in 9.
For the senior girls, Kendall Kocher and Rayleigh Turner poured in 26 and 25 points, respectively to lead the Lady Rebels. Katie McCoy led Timbo with 18, while Allile Brewer added 9 and Gracie Reny tossed in 8.
Timbo's junior boys got 18 points from Brayden Watts and 14 from Jaxson Wilkins, while Grady Pitcock scored 9. Timbo was led by Kaden Martell with 13 points.
