School District Takes Entergy Incentives

Energy Efficiency incentives from Entergy Arkansas are helping Mountain View School District save money by reducing the amount of electricity required for operation.

“Entergy Arkansas offered Mountain View School District a financial incentive to upgrade our facility, and it turned out to be a really good opportunity for us. The money we’re saving on energy we can now re-invest in our school,” Mountain View School District Supt. Rowdy Ross said. “On top of that, these changes are good for the environment, which is very important to Mountain View School District and the community it serves.”

The mission of Mountain View School District is to teach, evaluate, and disseminate programs and strategies that foster children’s abilities to think skillfully and critically. These programs serve 1,650 students and employ 250 people within the local community.

Participation in Entergy’s CitySmart Program resulted in a $79,361.07 incentive check that helped the school purchase and install energy efficient LED lights throughout the three K-12 campuses. The new LED lights will decrease the school’s energy consumption by 533,328 kWh per year.

Entergy Arkansas appreciates the opportunity to help Mountain View School District reduce their electricity usage. By replacing inefficient lighting and equipment throughout their campuses, the district should realize lower electric bills as well as a reduction in maintenance costs. EAI provided financial incentives through the CitySmart program to help overcome the initial cost of replacement.
