Schools Get Positive Marks

Posted

Supt. Rowdy Ross had good news for the board at its April 9 meeting, including a clean accreditation report and an especially strong showing on the Arkansas School Performance Report Cards.

“We have seven schools, and we got two Bs and five As, and that will compete with anybody in the state of Arkansas, I assure you,” Ross told the school board April 9.

Mountain View Elementary and Middle School, both Timbo schools, and Rural Special High School received A’s, while Mountain View High School and Rural Special Elementary received B’s.

Ross said the staff will break down the data in the reports over the summer and identify areas to work on. They are starting a new writing program that should help, he said.

“I’m very, very proud of our staff and students, and the community, and you guys – anybody that’s part of this,” Ross told the board.

“That kind of rejuvenates you, with all the bad stuff going on,” he said. Ross also reported an unusually good 2017-18 accreditation report, with all seven schools being fully accredited with no citations.
