Solar Panel Installation Nears Completion

Mountain View School District Will Receive Credit For Electricity Generated

Posted

Employees of APA Solar Racking are on track to complete the installation of solar panels at the Mountain View School campus this week. Luke McMahan, a 2003 graduate of Mountain View who is site foreman for the Ohio-based company, said the rack system will hold more than 1,400 solar panels and generate nearly 900 kilowatts of power to offset the price of electricity for the school district. Power generated will not directly power the campus but will be traded for credit toward the district’s electric cost. The project involves six employees of APA Solar in addition to electricians on site for the installation.
