The Timbo School Board met in special session July 13 and filled two positions for the upcoming school year. Isabelle Contreras was hired as an hourly janitorial worker to substitute for the custodian, and Amber Beavers was hired as a bus driver.
The board reviewed ongoing items noting that bids are being accepted for propane and gas, and the open board position is being advertised for interested candidates.
The short meeting followed a facilities training session with consultant Aliza Jordan. More discussion will be held regarding district facilities, and board members agreed community involvement is needed.
A work day for school beautification will be announced soon, and volunteers will be invited to participate.
It was discussed that students who are home-schooled are eligible to participate in school district sports if they are taking online courses.
The next meeting is scheduled Aug. 4 at 6 p.m.
