The Timbo School Board met in special session May 26 to approve resolutions designating the district’s banking institution and signatories, and to notify the Mountain View School District of its operational status.
The resolution regarding operation status serves as notice that the Timbo School District is requesting funds to be transferred from the Mountain View School District as stipulated by the state.
The board designated the financial institution as First Service Bank, reflecting action taken at the May 18 meeting. Those authorized to sign checks on school district accounts will be Supt. Valorie McCleary, school board president Melissa Sutton, and Misti Horton, who is business manager/treasurer of the Searcy County School District. McCleary and Horton will work for both school districts under a shared management contract. That contract has not yet been implemented.
The board also approved a communication to be sent to Mountain View Asst. Supt. Brent Howard regarding the retrieval of property that had been removed from the Timbo campus on May 18. McCleary read a proposed e-mail in which she requested Howard “check on and return all items that were located in the Timbo cafeteria that did not belong to [food service contractor] Chartwells.” She listed items including a small warming oven, serving pans and trays, and rolling storage bins.
She told the board that following a telephone conversation with Howard on Friday, three small serving pans with lids had been returned. The board approved sending the e-mail with reference photos attached.
The next regular meeting is set June 2 at 6 p.m.
