The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Forest Service, in partnership with various state and local partners, will sponsor a free fishing derby for ages 4-12 at Mirror Lake in Blanchard Springs Recreation Area on Sept. 12.
Registration begins at 7 a.m., with fishing allowed from 8 to 10 a.m.
Participation awards and contest prizes will be presented at 11 a.m. at the large pavilion in the day use area.
Partners in the event are Arkansas Game & Fish Commission, Arkansas State Parks and Riders United 4 Children.
