Death Investigated

Mountain View Police Department is investigating the death of a 27-year-old Mountain View man Sunday evening.

Investigator Sean Hickman said officers responded to Main Street at its intersection with Church Avenue and Oak Street, to find Donald Jon “D.J.” Binnie II with a gunshot wound that is believed to be self-inflicted. The incident occurred around 7 p.m.
Binnie died at UAMS after being med-flighted from Stone County Medical Center.

Mountain View Funeral Service is handling arrangements. A visitation was set for Wednesday at 10 a.m. with memorial at 11 a.m. at Flatwoods Baptist Church in Mountain View.
