Multiple residents were injured in highway wrecks Monday and Tuesday, according to Stone County Sheriff Brandon Long.

On Monday evening, June 8, a 2020 Nissan Rogue (photo above) driven by 73-year-old Charles Gillihan of Mountain View crossed over the centerline on Highway 5 South in the Arbanna community and struck a 2009 Volkswagen van (photo below) driven by Paula Kaser, 57, of Mountain View, and occupied by her husband, Bart, and three other passengers.
Gillihan was traveling south and Kaser was driving north.
Gillihan’s vehicle rolled once, left the roadway and struck and power pole, then came to rest against a parked travel trailer.
Gillihan, Paula Kaser and Bart Kaser were all medflighted from the scene.
The accident is under investigation, and officers are awaiting Gillihan’s blood test results from the state crime lab, Long said.

On Tuesday, 34-year-old Karissa Avey of Mountain View was injured when the 2013 Chevrolet Sonic she was driving (photo below) ran off Highway 5 North, struck a culvert at the VFW driveway and overturned, coming to rest on its side in the highway. Avey was transported by Vital Link to Batesville and then was sent to a Little Rock hospital.
